Katherine (Katie) Riegel is the author of two books of poetry: What the Mouth Was Made For and Castaway, and a book of suggestions for a freer life, The Manifesto. She received her MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and has stepped away from academia after teaching at various colleges and universities for over 20 years. Her poems and essays have appeared in numerous publications, including Brevity, Crazyhorse, the Gettysburg Review, and The Rumpus.
